Historic Car Race Weekends are attracting a lot of attention due to fans becoming hungry for the yesteryear, along with the opportunity to teach their children where the car designs of today came from. These Historic Race Weekends create the opportunity to develop premier events through a partnership with Gold Crown. The event will begin with a welcome party to reinforce the social atmosphere while allowing the Historic racers to get to know the Gold Crown owners.
RV's and camping out for the weekend is encouraged and the paddock area will be carefully organized to maximize the enjoyment of the participants and the fans. The Owners Club is a key to the success of these premier events. The club will grow to have members from both Gold Crown and the Historic community.
The Historic cars will have a short practice in the morning and longer in the afternoon, with the same schedule for both Saturday and Sunday. Throughout the weekend Gold Crown will practice, qualify and race in between these Historic Cars practice sessions. Between sessions the Historic cars are polished and fans are able to talk about the intricacies of their design and history with drivers and team members. The drivers are generally extroverted, entrepreneurial and friendly guys wanting to connect with the race fans. This will add depth and content to the Gold Crown race weekend. The Historic cars are often restored and maintained by companies owned by experienced IndyCar mechanics. Gold Crown is appealing to these companies as many are looking for quality, premier events so their clients are able to enjoy their handiwork.
